Sheila H. Schweitzer
Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer


Sheila H. Schweitzer was elected CareMedic's chairperson and chief executive officer in September 2004, after serving as its president and chief operating officer since March 2003. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of First Service Administrators Inc., and the President's Council of The Medical Banking Project, for which she chairs the Dispute Resolution Initiative Committee. Previously, Schweitzer was executive vice president and chief operating officer of MedUnite Inc. MedUnite was a consortium of seven health plans--Aetna, Cigna, Wellpoint, Anthem, Oxford, Healthnet and PacifiCare--that developed a network for connecting physicians with payers to communicate health data such as eligibility, claim status, referrals, authorizations and claim submission. MedUnite was sold to ProxyMed, Inc. in December 2002. Prior to working for MedUnite, Schweitzer was chief executive officer of Presideo, Inc., a healthcare Internet security company. Prior to that, she was senior vice president of operations with ENVOY Corporation, the nation's largest healthcare transactions service company. Schweitzer holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University.

Allen Plunk, CPA
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer


Allen Plunk joined CareMedic in January 2007 as senior vice president and chief financial officer, and also assumed the role of chief operating officer later that year. From 1999 through 2006, Plunk was employed by Viewlocity, Inc., a global provider of supply chain event management solutions. As Viewlocity's chief financial officer and chief operating officer, he was responsible for all general, administrative and accounting functions for the venture-backed software company with operations in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia. Prior to Viewlocity, Plunk was chief financial officer at UniComp Inc., and was a business assurance manager at Coopers & Lybrand LLP. A Certified Public Accountant, he holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Harding University.

Richard Nelli
Chief Technology Officer


Richard Nelli joined CareMedic in September of 2007 with over 17 years of healthcare information technology experience. He has served in various product development and product management roles during his career, most recently as vice president of product management at Quovadx, where he guided the company's healthcare interoperability solutions strategy. Prior to Quovadx, he spent 10 years at QuadraMed, leading its product development initiatives. Nelli is a skilled healthcare IT solutions architect with strong standards-based integration and interoperability expertise. He has vast knowledge of revenue cycle best practices and software development processes, and holds a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems with a minor in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Mississippi. 

Jim Jacobs
Vice President, Marketing and Sales Operations

Jim Jacobs was CEO and President of ActaView Corporation, an Atlanta-based performance management dashboard company, before joining forces with CareMedic in 2006. He founded ActaView in 2000 after having been with Healtheon, then WebMD, for six years as vice president of engineering then vice president of lab services. Prior to that, he worked for Healthdyne. Jacobs has an MBA in Decision Sciences from Georgia State University, where he is a member of both Beta Gamma Sigma and Alpha Iota Delta. Jacobs helped develop two software patents, and has filed for a business process patent. He is also a published author and speaks on emerging technology panels.

Rick Sevigny
Vice President of Human Resources

Rick Sevigny joined CareMedic in February 2007 as vice president of human resources. Prior to joining CareMedic, Sevigny was global vice president of human resources for Saxotech, Inc., of Tampa, Fla., an international, innovative software development and solutions leader for the news and publishing industry. In this position, he was responsible for employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, organizational design, employee and executive development, and employee communication programs. Before Saxotech, he was director of human resources for 180 Connect, Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, and director of human resources for Tech Data Corporation of Clearwater, Fla., for more than 10 years. Sevigny holds a bachelor's degree in industrial psychology/business management from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and is an active member of the National Society for Human Resource Management.
