Key Position Statements
Q3 2010

Since CareMedic solutions support the full spectrum of the revenue cycle, we have employed a comprehensive remediation approach enterprise-wide. Our engagement in remediation activities began in 2009 when we conducted gap analyses of transactions sets for all of our system solutions. We also identified the requirements for supporting the transition to 5010 and ICD-10 and began planning our development solution and timelines.

Our proactive due diligence has effectively positioned us for the development tasks and preliminary plans for testing slated for 2010 as well as 2011 implementation efforts.

Our commitment to our customers is captured in the position statements below:

Position Statement 1: Commitment to Rigorous Due Diligence

Our due diligence began with the development of a comprehensive remediation approach enterprise-wide. As a result of our initial activities in 2009, we have been able to begin preliminary development. We will continue to use rigorous due diligence throughout 2010 and 2011 to ensure we are prepared to meet our customers’ remediation needs.

Position Statement 2: Dedicated to Continuous Customer Communication

As a joint effort with several internal cross-functional teams, we have designed a comprehensive communication plan to ensure our customers receive frequent updates with consistent messaging on our remediation planning. Our customers will have the opportunity to attend:

  • Complimentary workshops on 5010 and ICD-10 and other educational forums
  • Virtual Customer Exchanges (VCEs) to share remediation best practices and challenges with other healthcare stakeholders
  • Product Specific Remediation Sessions to understand how our system solutions will be modified

Additionally, our website will contain valuable information to be used as a resource, so that customers are kept informed regularly on our remediation plan.

Position Statement 3: Preparation for Internal Testing

Internal testing is the first validation phase we will use to ensure our 5010 platform is stabilized. During this phase, our solutions will be meticulously tested and re-tested to ensure that they are compliant, and all features and functionality are performing optimally. As a part of Ingenix, we have a combined pool of specialized HIPAA 5010 transaction expertise to leverage, and this expertise will positively impact our ability to complete this phase by Q4 2010.

Position Statement 4: Preparation for Customer and Trading Partner Testing

In our second validation phase, we will begin testing with customers and trading partners. Customers will be granted access to our data validation testing environment as they complete their internal remediation efforts. Additionally, we will be in direct communication with key Trading Partners to keep informed on their progress and we will provide a continuous 5010 Testing Status Update for our customers.

Position Statement 5: Streamlined Migration Path with Customer Support

As a part of our commitment to customers, we will provide a streamlined migration path to ensure that the 2012 go-live for each customer runs smoothly. Additionally customer support, including education, training, and customer exchanges, will be provided.

More detailed information will be available soon on the Customer support website.

Without question, our customers can be assured that CareMedic is on track to meet our 5010 and ICD-10 timeline. Our internal functional groups have launched coordinated efforts that strictly adhere to the delivery dates mandated by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). These modifications will have a tremendous impact and CareMedic is committed to being ready to serve you.
